*WARNING THIS BLOG IS BEING MONITORED BY THE NSA
Are we really all being monitored by the National Security
Administration (NSA) every time we are on the Internet or every time we make a
phone call?
Well…
Our own president assured us that NOBODY is listening to our telephone calls and that NOBODY is monitoring our emails.
Surely, president Obama’s credibility makes him trustworthy right?
WRONG
Our president lied to us, or our president is misinformed,
either way, both scenarios are pretty bad.
So what if the NSA is peeping in our business, its not like
we are doing anything wrong right? Why do people get all wild up about being
monitored by our government, what do people have to hide? After all, the NSA is
monitoring the US to protect the citizens, not to expose our secrets.
Is the NSA constitutional? Well there is nothing in the
constitution that says the US citizens cannot be monitored or watched, but then
again, there is nothing in the constitutional that says we COULD be watched.
One could argue that the existence of the NSA is a result of
the 911 terrorists attacks, so the NSA’s existence and actions are justified by
the prerequisite that is 911, in other words the NSA is trying to prevent
another terrorism attack.
Obviously one would be furious or frantic if someone were to
be physically monitoring your emails, texts, phone calls, etc., as you take
part in them, but there is no one physically doing that. Perhaps that is why I
am not too worrisome of what the NSA is doing.
This video makes light of what the NSA is doing but is
correct… Watch it, pretty funny.
What do you guys think? Is the NSA infringing on our
privacy? Is their surveillance justified? What are the implications that come
with the NSA’s surveillance on us? Do you feel the NSA’s actions are affecting
you or others?
There is so many conspiracy theories that cannot be explained or leaves us thinking. The president may say that the NSA is not spying on on the citizens of the united states but the news states that the NSA is breaking the rules. I would not agree or disagree because we found evidence but in some may say its false or true. It sounds like a good idea to spy on someone but only the target which is the culprit. Privacy is actually something important too, some people want their personal affliction or events to them selves so my answer is neutral.
ReplyDeleteI believe that it is a good thing that the NSA is spying on our phone calls, emails, web cameras, etc. The NSA is not there just to hear what we have to say or see what we are doing. The NSA is there for our own safety. What do we the people really have to hide from our government? When you are trying to hide from the government is it because you are doing something illegal? I am pro on our government being able to access our conversations, emails, etc.
ReplyDeleteAs i was reading, i saw this statement "So what if the NSA is peeping in our business, its not like we are doing anything wrong right?" and i do agree with it because its true, if we the people are not doing anything wrong then what is there to hide? also agreeing with Justin Contreras saying "The NSA is not there just to hear what we have to say or see what we are doing. The NSA is there for our own safety." very much true, the government isn't going to waste their time trying to see what we are going to do for the weekend or spread our secrets to all our friends, they will be looking for any threat made to America so we the people live safer life's.
ReplyDeleteThe National Security Administration it seems like they are only trying to keep us safe. Those who feel threatened are really the ones who care. Why should you care are you doing something illegal or putting our nation at risk? The government wants to keep this nation and it people safe and are trying their best to prevent another tragic event such as 9/11.
ReplyDeleteI read your article, and I guess I'm just not one to be really interested in the NSA or anything that is like that.
ReplyDeleteLike, people say all these kind of accusations that we don't have privacy and we don't have this or that... But where is the evidence for that? And besides, you're living in a country that lets you have some concept of freedom. Move to China, why don't you, and try to be "free" there.
I really don't get why people complain about the government, overall. Like, I get when you're mad and you want an amendment to something like that, but to be mad for the NSA for supposedly listening to our conversations?
The way I see it is I have nothing to hide that could make me a threat to the US, and people take it way out of proportion. So maybe you like to "sext" or talk nasty on the phone, who gives a shit? Lots of people do.
So, seriously, I say for those people who are SOOO paranoid about the NSA stalking them... Up yours! God, those kind of people need to die or leave the country.
I do believe our government is trying to keep us safe; however, what is troublesome is they are not limiting themselves. People are worried about their right to privacy more than anything else. If the government can spy on us why can I not spy on my neighbors? Can't I see what they are doing online or who they are calling? It is for my safety and my family. I should be able to place cameras on their property and know where they go... NO its creepy and there should be limits to what the government can do as well because without oversight there is no freedom. Humans are falliable and it is people checking on people in the end.
ReplyDeleteI agree that we should not get too worked up about this whole government is watching us thing. It's not something that is personal, we do not have a personal stalker who make us uncomfortable and is trying to harm us in any way, it is a possible means of security. Are we really that full of ourselves to think that the government is trying to figure out what each of us is doing specifically? There are so many people in this country, I am sure that none of us are being watched 24/7. I'm sure whoever is monitoring me is tired of seeing me do nothing. Anyway, I'm not stressing about who's watching me, if anyone is, which is very unlikely, they do not have an impact on my life or future plans. NSA.. do your thing.
ReplyDeleteThis is an interesting blog David. I think we must be mindful that power is power and has the possibility of abuse when it becomes too large and expansive. In this case, the NSA's ability to surveillance is much too large. Also, if the info is available anyone has access to it with the right skills and/or resources. We are assuming the government ALWAYS works in the people's best interests, but we know from history that is not always the case. The government watched MLK and Malcolm X closely, both of whom were assassinated. Recent information gathered has strongly suggested that Kennedy's assassination was only possible because of classified information made only available to government officials. A large part of a healthy government and society is the people's ability to rally, protest and demand change. That ability is severely mitigated if their intelligence and ability to watch us can interfere with that, which it does. We can't ASSUME the government always acts in our best interest or that they are ONLY looking for possible terrorism. And who/what bodies define what "terrorism" is? Terrorism is not always foreign either. Many have been deemed domestic terrorists for "crimes" that are questionable. Be careful of giving up too much power. It's much more difficult to get it back when you need to. And you'll ALWAYS, at some point, need to.
ReplyDeleteGood post, David!
